Jake Paul appears to have leaked the news of Jorge Masvidal’s fight in a now-deleted tweet. “Gamebred” is one of the most popular MMA fighters. His career spanned almost two decades. Masvidal retired from the sport last year following a defeat against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287. This was his fourth consecutive defeat in the UFC. Although there has been some speculation about Masvidal potentially stepping inside the ring, it seems like it could happen sooner than expected, as he took to X recently and tweeted “Unretired.”
Jake hinted Masvidal’s next opponent
Despite not giving any hint to his fans, Masvidal’s next opponent was leaked by the “Problem Child,” who responded to the former UFC superstar by saying, “Yeah, Yeah. Going to box Nate Diaz…whatever. Come see me when Dana gives you permission.” Masvidal and “The Stockton Slap” have faced each other in the octagon before. The two met in 2019 at UFC 255, where the BMF title was on line. Masvidal won the fight by TKO (doctor stoppage) in the third round. So the fans will definitely love to see the two face each other again.
Gamebred had one of the most-talked rivalries
If we talk about Jorge Masvidal’s rivalry with Colby Covington, then it is one of the most talked-about rivalries in the promotion. The two went from being close friends and training partners to enemies. “Chaos” faced Masvidal at UFC 272, with Covington emerging victorious via unanimous decision. However, even their bout was not able to resolve their issues, as Masvidal was accused of attacking Colby outside a Miami steakhouse weeks later.
Covington talked about his rivalry with Masvidal
Recently Covington appeared on PBD Podcast and claimed that he has left behind his resentment towards Masvidal. “Chaos” said he had let go of all the emotions and feelings with him and he could care less about him. “I’ve already handled my business in the UFC. People saw in front of the world what I did to him…I’m levels above him, you know, in every sense of the word. Politically, spiritually, in the sports world. You know, he’s retired, we’re that guy. Why are you talking about why he’s not even on top?”
