The IND vs PAK clash was full of controversies as there were reports of Pakistani cricketers facing inappropriate behavior from a section of fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium. They were subjected to hurled abuses & inappropriate comments on religion. After the incident, PCB lodged an Official Complaint with the ICC stating the abuses Pakistan Cricket team faced during the high-octane fixture. With the incident coming to light, Irfan Pathan came up with reports which revealed two Indian players too faced inappropriate behavior when they toured Pakistan in 2003-2004.
Taking to his Official Twitter account, Irfan Pathan said that when he toured Pakistan with the Indian team for the first time in 2003-2004 he received a lot of love from the fans. They too had some bad experiences but the Indian team didn’t go on to complain about it & instead, they put their entire focus on winning the games for their country.
Irfan Pathan shared a picture that revealed about attack on India
Irfan shared the news reports with a picture where he was seen showing the umpire Simon Taufel a mark on his face after being hit by an object while playing an ODI against Pakistan. He wrote that he is saying that it happens. There were good fans who chanted Balaji Zara dheere chalo with love before this trip. But this incident happened too. we moved on and focused on winning rather than crying about it.”
The reason why Irfan brought this incident to the limelight is that he believes that a team touring another country should focus only on their game & surpass such incidences & nuances created by few people.
Even Pakistan Cricket team’s Director of Cricket, Mickey Arthur said that the fixture didn’t feel like an ICC event. He said that it didn’t look like an ICC event it just seemed like a bilateral series a BCCI event. He went on to highlight that the Pakistan team had not support from the crowd at Narendra Modi stadium & the DJ at the ground even did not play ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’. PCB in its complaint also raised the voice-over Visa delays for Pakistani fans in their complaint. They didn’t like the way Indian fans have treated Pakistani cricketers on the field. Now it’s worth noting whether BCCI & ICC will pay heed to the matter or it will get waved off without any consideration.
AUS vs PAK: Warner & Marsh’s blitzkreig guided Australia to 367 runs total
Showers of sixes & roars of joy were witnessed when Australia locked horns with Pakistan in Match 18 of the ODI World Cup 2023. Batting first, Australia got to a blastic start with openers Warner scoring 163 off 124 balls followed by Marsh’s 121 off 108 balls. The duo opened their arms & smashed Pakistani bowlers all across the ground. They looked unstoppable & were marching towards a big total. However, Afridi gave Pakistan their first breakthrough by dismissing opener Marsh for 121 runs off 108 balls to reduce Australia to 259-1. But Warner was going strong at the other end, he got dismissed only in the 42nd over off Haris Rauf’s delivery with Australia’s scoreboard reading 324-4. But expect the duo none of their middle or lower-order batters could actually deliver getting dispersed cheaply. In the end, Australia’s innings was wrapped at 369 runs.
In reply, Pakistan got off to an ideal start with openers Shafique & Imam-Ul-Haq blasting all cylinders. They have smashed 47 runs in just 7.3 overs & looking good to post a big score in a chase of 369 runs. The match is underway & anything can change over a single ball. Whether Pakistan can chase the target of Australia will get the better of them. The question will be answered as the match progresses.
