Indian Cricket team has closed the book of 2023 with a disappointing loss in the Centurion Test. But keeping the heartbreaks of 2023 aside the Indian clan has welcomed 2024 by winning the Newlands Cape Town Test. With a win in hand, the Indian team is all set to embrace the new year with all the positivity & motivation to bounce back. Just like in 2023, the Indian Men’s and women’s Cricket teams have a lot to accomplish in the year 2024. The new year seemed to be jam-packed with more than two months long IPL & second edition of WPL along with the T20 World Cup 2024 slated to be played in 2024.
The 2024 looks quite promising as both men’s & women’s cricket teams are all set to be involved in a riveting action throughout the year. In the year 2023, the Indian team managed to reach the finals of ICC WTC 2021-2023 & the ODI World Cup 2023 but failed to surpass the last stage & win the coveted trophies. What Indian Cricket Team Schedule 2024 Look Like?
In the year 2024, both men’s & women’s Indian cricket teams will play in both bilateral home & away series across all three formats of the game. The major highlight of the 2024 will be the one & only T20 World Cup 2024. India’s search for an ICC Trophy continues as it has been a decade since they have brought an ICC Trophy home. The last time when India won as ICC Trophy was back in 2013 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Coming to the Women’s team the clan has reached the finals of the ODI & T20 World Cups but is yet to win one.
Indian cricket men’s team kick-started their 2024 campaign with a second Test against South Africa which they won successfully. These matches are a part of the WTC 2023-2025 cycle. Now Indian team will lock horns in a crucial three-match T20I series against Afghanistan beginning on January 11. After the end of the series, India will host England for a five-match Test series beginning on January 25. After that Indian team will lock horns in the IPL 2024 & WPL 2024. After the end of IPL 2024, the Indian men’s team will head to West Indies & USA for the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in June.
After the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian men’s team will travel to Sri Lanka for the white ball series followed by hosting Bangladesh & New Zealand. Indian Men’s team will end their 2024 year with a five-match Test series against Australia with the final Test to be held in 2025.
Coming to the Women’s team, the Women in Blue will travel to Bangladesh for ICC t20 World Cup 2024 in September. Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will end 2024 with an away tour to Australia for a 3-match ODI series and then host the West Indies for their final assignment of 2024. Young slots need to be groomed for Test Transition
Indian Cricket team was not too convincing in the recently concluded two-match Test series in South Africa. Veteran players such as KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma have performed well in the series but young players are yet to find their mojo in the longest format of cricket. The team management has to look into it & groom the young slot to take the onus as the transition he begun in the Indian Cricket team.
Indian Cricket team’s bowling attack has performed well on the South African soil with Bumrah, Siraj & Mukesh looking in lethal form. They just need to continue bowling on good lines & lengths to excel in the Test format.

Indian team has to win the T20 World Cup 2024
Indian team’s drought for an ICC trophy continues to date. It was back in 2013 that the Indian team lifted an ICC Trophy & since then they have failed to lift any ICC Trophy. The success & legacy of any Cricket team is identified by the number of trophies they win. And India needs some ICC trophies in their kitty to establish their legacy on the global stage.
After failures in the ODI World Cup 2023 & WTC 2021-2023, the Indian team will now have to display a stunning performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 to end their title drought. They haven’t won a single T20 World Cup right from its inauguration & are desperate to lift their maiden Trophy which they can do in this season.
Indian team has recalled veteran players Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma from the T20I squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
