India Set for Zimbabwe Tour After T20 World Cup, Boosting Bilateral Ties
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced a five-match T20I series scheduled for July 6-14 in Harare, following the conclusion of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 (June 1-29). This tour marks a significant boost to bilateral cricket relations between the two nations.
“We are thrilled to host India for this T20I series,” expressed ZC Chairman Mr. Tavengwa Mukuhlani. “It will be our biggest international cricket attraction this year, and we deeply appreciate the BCCI’s commitment to touring Zimbabwe.”
He emphasized the positive influence India has on the sport globally and the importance of fostering collaboration between the boards.

BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah echoed the sentiment, highlighting the BCCI’s dedication to supporting the development of cricket worldwide. “We understand Zimbabwe is undergoing a rebuilding phase, and we’re happy to offer our support during this crucial time,” he stated.
This series marks the fourth T20I encounter between India and Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe, following previous series in 2010, 2015, and 2016. Cricket fans will recall the exciting clash between the two sides at the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where India emerged victorious by 71 runs in Melbourne.
Suryakumar Yadav, the two-time ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year, delivered a memorable performance with a blistering 61 runs off just 25 balls in that match.
