Day one of the India vs England 3rd Test was full of action & drama. The newcomer Sarfaraz Khan made his debut in Rajkot Test & his debut became the talk of the town. Sarfaraz has scored tons of runs in domestic cricket & his debut was expected to end with a ton in his kitty. But Sarfaraz Khan failed to score a century & got dismissed at 62 due to a mix-up with veteran player Ravindra Jadeja. Indian Cricket Team Captain too was unhappy with Sarfaraz’s dismissal.
Sarfaraz Khan addressed the run-up at the end of Day One’s play. He said, “At times there is miscommunication, and it is a part of the game. Sometimes you get run out. Such kind of things happen,” Sarfaraz Khan said in the post-match conference.

He went on to thank Jadeja for supporting him throughout his innings. He said that Ravindra Jadeja talked to him at lunchtime. He further said that he is the type of batter who likes to talk about what is going on while batting. So he told Jadeja to keep talking to him while he was batting & he supported him a lot by speaking to him at lunchtime.
“He told me how the debutants feel and how he felt as a debutant. I was a bit nervous, especially when I played my first sweep and missed it. But he told me to take some time and it would be easy. I listened to him and tried implementing it.”.
On what Jadeja said on the runout, Sarfaraz said: “He said there was a bit of miscommunication, but I said it’s okay.”
A Glimpse of IND vs ENG 3rd Test Day 1
Rohit Sharma& Ravindra Jadeja scored stunning hundreds while debutant Sarfaraz khan announced his arrival in the Intenrational arena with a stunning fifty. On the back of the trio’s contribution, India reached 326 runs at the stumps on day one of the third Test.
India was reduced to 33-3 in the first hour of play. However, Rohit (131 off 196) and Jadeja (110 batting off 212) steered the ship through choppy waters with a 204-run partnership.
After Rohit’s dismissal, Sarfaraz (62 off 66) took the reins into his hands & scored joint fastest fifty by an Indian in a debut match to help India surpass 300 runs total before getting dismissed due to a mix-up with Jadeja.
Standing in the dressing room, skipper Rohit was livid at the manner of Sarfaraz’s dismissal and threw his cap in frustration. Jadeja was batting with nightwatchman Kuldeep Yadav (1 batting) at the close of play. India ended Day 1 at 326-5 & now Jadeja & Kuldeep will resume their innings on Day 2.
