Former India Captain, Virat Kohli lost a golden opportunity to surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in ODI format. When India was reeling at 2-3 in 1.3 overs in the chase of 200 runs, Virat Kohli came to their rescue & along with KL Rahul rebuilt India’s innings with a 165-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Virat was all set to register his 48th ODI ton & reach closer to Sachin’s record of 49 ODI tons but before he could reach the landmark he got dismissed for 85 runs off 116 balls off Josh Hazlewood’s bowling. This dismissal didn’t go well with Kohli as he was seen losing his cool in the dressing room & blaming himself for getting out before his much-awaited hundred.
But despite getting dismissed Virat registered history by becoming the highest run-scorer in the limited overs format overtaking Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli reached this epic landmark during his 85-run stint against Australia at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai. His life-saving 165-run stand with KL Rahul helped India to move closer to the target of 200 runs.
