5 Youngest Players in the ODI World Cup 2023:
-
Tanzim Hasan Sakib (Bangladesh 20years, 341D)
20- year-old, Tanzim Hasan Sakib is one of the youngest players to grace the field during the ODI World Cup 2023. The prolific right-hand fast bowler made his first-class debut on 29 March 2021 for Sylhet Division in the National Cricket League 2020-21. Notably, he was also a part of Bangladesh’s U19 World Cup-winning team of 2020. However, Tanzim made his debut in the senior team in Colombo during the Asia Cup 2023 tournament against India.
During his debut, he scored unbeaten 14 runs & returned with figures of 2-32 in 7.5 overs which included the prized wickets of Rohit Sharma for a duck and Tilak Varma for 5 runs. Hasan is also considered to be a budding talent with the ball & has the ability to turn in it the air & off the surface as well. In the absence of prolific all-rounder Hasaranga, Tanzim Hasan Shakib can get an opportunity to feature in the Playing XI & do the job for the Sri Lankan clan.
2) Vikramjit Singh (Netherlands, 20 years 241 D)
Netherlands, Vikramjit is another on the list of Youngest Players to feature in ODI World Cup 2023. So far Vikramjit has played 25 ODIs amassing 808 runs with one ton & four fifties in his kitty. He averages 32.32 in ODIs at a stunning strike rate of 77.17. He has also represented the Netherlands in 8 T20Is, scoring 76 runs. Vikramjit under the guidance of cricket legend, Peter Borren has learned the skills & art of the sport. However, his only ODI ton came against Oman in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers Super Six fixture. But what makes Riaz a player to watch out for is his scores which speak volumes for him. During his limited ODI appearances, Riaz Hassan has registered his best score of 50 runs. Hassan has also played an ODI for Afghanistan against Pakistan where he got a good start for their innings but failed to convert it into a big score. However, he played well away from home in Colombo where he ended up scoring 34 runs for his team. Riaz Hassan will try to prove their prowess in the ODI World Cup 2023 if included in the Playing XI. Afghanistan fought hard to book a spot in Asia Cup 2023 knockouts but failed to do so after suffering a poorly calculated defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka.
