England loses second test to India, scoreline goes 1-1, concerns over Bazball comes, Brendon McCullum leaves befitting reply
Bazball is more about a certain mentality rather than going reckless at your opposition. It is about having the self-belief that a win is possible from any kind position, however bad it may be. Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes have clarified it on numerous occasions but still, when the team fails, the term Bazball is depicted more negatively.
McCullum is not short of boldness and now he has said that England will go more harder at India in the third test in Rajkot. His claim is definitely backed a an optimistic evidence for England because never before Indian spinners, likes of Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin, have looked less threatening while bowling in home conditions.
It is like two heavyweights colliding with each other. Two rounds and both heavyweights have won a each and it is going to be interesting to see who goes on to land more devestating punches. India lost the first match but they weren’t out of the game, England lost the second but similiary, they were never completely out of the game.
Be it as it may, England want to be more commited to their playing style and now the case of execution comes to the scene.
Can they or can they not?

McCullum is already impressed with his young guns, the way these guys stood up to the moment without any prior experience and then their is this remarkable challenge of playing in Indian conditions. So far, so fair.
“There are heaps of positives. Our spin bowling unit, albeit young and raw, have shown they’ve got what it takes.”
“The one thing I guess you don’t know about in the heat of battle is the character the guys possess.”
“I am absolutely delighted in how they have performed with very little experience under their belt. You look around and you just see guys who look like they belong at international level.”
These are the words of New Zealander who has mightily impressed with the young spinners giving it all they could for England.
England have a decent break between second and third test. They will go back to Abu Dhabi and it is not all for practice purpose. Some refreshing air, regaining your original expressions and mindset, that’s all.
One can criticise that they could have done it anywhere in India. When games happen quickly, everything kinds of seems to be drifting away, whether it is coach, captain or entire team, it becomes the case of chasing the game and at worst, a lot of teams get stuck in the whirlwind of disaster.
If anything it is going to be a hell of a series. “I think 1-1 is probably a fair reflection of where the contest is at the moment and, if the next three Tests are anything like these last two, it’s going to be one hell of a series,” McCullum said with conviction.
“What we have seen is that both teams will give as good as they get. I’m sure everyone around the world that has supported this series so far has been totally entertained and enthralled by the contest.
“What makes a great heavyweight fight is a contrast in styles and conviction in those methods. We’ve got conviction in ours and India have got conviction in theirs.”
