IND vs BAN: Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha has released a statement about the availability of captain Shakib-Al-Hasan ahead of crucial India vs Bangladesh clash in the ODI World Cup 2023. Shakib suffered a left quadricep injury during a fixture against New Zealand. Despite of that, he bowled his quota of 10 overs in immense pain. However, after the fixture, he didn’t return for the post-match presentation.
During the pre-match Press Conference Hathurusingha was asked about the availability of Shakib-Al-Hasan to which he answered that he has not attained full fitness & the team won’t risk him. But if he gets ready on time for the fixture then they will include him in the Playing XI.
“He had a good batting session yesterday and did a little bit of running between the wickets. We did a scan today, so we are waiting for the results. At the moment he is okay. We haven’t tried bowling yet. So, he will come tomorrow morning and we will assess him again and then make a decision,” Hathurusingha added.
