The first time he was dismissed on 99 was in June 2007 against South Africa in Belfast. He was run out after being sent back by Yuvraj Singh. In the same year, in an ODI match against England in Bristol, Tendulkar was caught behind off Andrew Flintoff on 99.
The third and final occasion, when he was out on 99 was in November 2007 against Pakistan in Mohali. Sachin is the only batter in history to have the most dismissals on 99 runs In ODIs, having been dismissed thrice on the score. Overall, Sachin also holds an unwanted record in the ODIs. He is the only batter in White ball cricket history to have been dismissed 17 more times while playing in the score of 90s.
On the brighter side, the Master Blaster also boasts of centuries of centuries in the game, and his record will be difficult to tally in future.
