They will then take on hosts India in Delhi on October 11 before finally featuring in their final group stage fixture against South Africa on November 10 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Earlier everyone had expected that veteran all-rounder Mohammed Nabi will likely lead Afghanistan in the prestigious tournament. However, now Hashmatullah Shahidi is set to lead Afghanistan along with his deputy Najibullah Zadran.
Astonishing batter Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz will lead the batting attack whereas Naveen-ul-Haq, Rashid Khan and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman will lead the bowling charge. Evolving spinner Noor Ahmed will also turn out to be a vital asset.
