Christian
The Miz won the Intercontinental title for the first time in 2012. He defeated Christian in a singles match at Raw 1000 to win the championship. Since then, both superstars have had great careers. While The Miz is moving forward in WWE, Christian has taken on a different path. He is currently a part of AEW and is known as Christian Cage. He holds the TNT championship and has established himself as one of the top heels in the company.
Wade Barrett
The Miz defeated Wade Barrett to win the Intercontinental title for the second time in his career. In the match against “Bad News Barrett”, Miz had the upper hand and easily defeated his opponent. Currently, Wade Barrett is part of WWE commentary. He first started doing commentary on NXT and eventually earned a spot on SmackDown and then Raw. Now he is an essential part of WWE commentary.
Dolph Ziggler
In 2014, The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler at the Night of Champions to become the Intercontinental Champion for the third time. The rivalry between The Miz and Ziggler brought out the best in both wrestlers and entertained the WWE fan base. In September 2023, Ziggler was released from WWE after a 19-year-long career with the company. The Miz has defeated Ziggler a total of three times to win the Intercontinental title, twice in 2014 and once in 2016.
Zack Ryder
Zack Ryder won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32 after climbing the ladder, but his winning moment didn’t last long as The Miz defeated him on Raw following WrestleMania to win the title. Since that loss, Ryder’s career in WWE has waned and he currently performs as Matt Cardona on the Independent scene.
Dean Ambrose
At Extreme Rules 2017, The Miz defeated Dean Ambrose to win the Intercontinental Championship. Although Ambrose gave a great performance, he was continuously distracted, which The Miz took advantage of and defeated him to become the champion. Currently, Dean Ambrose performs in AEW as Jon Moxley and has a very good and successful career there.
Roman Reigns
The Miz’s biggest win for the Intercontinental title in WWE came on the 25th Anniversary of Raw. He defeated Roman Reigns and won the championship. Considering Reigns’ status today, this win would be considered huge. At present, Roman Reigns is undoubtedly the biggest star in WWE and is also the undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
