PCB is facing criticism from fans, Read to know why.
Pakistan Cricket Board is facing strong criticism from fans & former players for accepting the omission of the Country’s name on the official Asia Cup 2023 Logo present on the participating teams’ jerseys. The absence of the Pakistan logo from the Asia Cup Logo came into the limelight when Pakistan walked down the field to face Nepal in the opening clash of the marquee event.
Former Pakistan player Rashid Khan criticized the board for accepting this move. He said that this is unacceptable & it is the Asian Cricket Council that should explain this as Asia Cup is their tournament. PCB tried to get the situation under control by saying that the ACC had taken a decision after last year’s Asia Cup that the host country’s name would not be given with the Asia Cup 2023 logo in future events.
But the decision of ACC didn’t go well with Pakistani fans as they are criticizing the board openly on social media. Some said that even if the ACC has taken such a decision, why Pakistan agree to it as they are hosting a multi-team event after 15 years?
“Makes no sense at all. Then why has the ACC given the host country’s name on the logos for their Asian Emerging Nations Cup or their Asian under-16 event held in July in Malaysia,”
former Test batsman Mohsin Khan questioned.
IND vs. PAK: Is Jay Shah behind all the Chaos?
Another former player who didn’t want to be named claimed that the President of ACC, Jay Shah who is also the Secretary of BCCI is the reason for Pakistan not being allowed to keep their logo as the host nation on the official logo.
“Given the current scenario between the two countries perhaps the BCCI official felt it would be embarrassing for the Indian team players to wear kits with the name of Pakistan on the official Asia Cup logo,”
former Pakistan player said.
Even Rashid Khan supports the former Pakistani Player’s take & says that what has happened is embarrassing & should be clarified.
