Ryan Garcia seems very disappointed with his brother Sean’s performance against Amado Vargos at the Last Man Standing: Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal boxing event. During the match against Sean, he gained control early while maintaining the pressure throughout the bout. Both fighters traded punches, but Vargas set the pace while Sean took a defensive approach. In the fourth round, Vargas knocked Garcia down with a destructive uppercut. Sean managed to beat the referee’s count, but Vargas landed a powerful right hand in the sixth round, forcing the referee to stop the fight. Vargus was eventually declared the winner by knockout.
Garcia was escorted by the security swiftly
After his younger brother was knocked out in the fight, Ryan Garcia was seen making a quick exit from the arena as the security personnel took him backstage. The events that led to Garcia’s ejection are still unclear. However, in a tweet, Ryan stated that he wasn’t escorted, he just simply left and everyone was cool. The 25-year-old claimed that he does not have a single hater in real life. Garcia also reacted to his brother’s fight on X, saying, “Sean just kept getting hit with uppercuts and never countered.”
Ryan was expelled by WBC on Thursday
Sean’s fight week was overshadowed by Ryan’s off-ring antics. Ryan Garcia was expelled by the World Boxing Council on Thursday after he made racist remarks against black people and Muslims online. Later, he issued an apology, claiming he would be entering rehab for alcohol and substance abuse issues. After Sean’s defeat, Garcia tweeted that he skipped rehab for this sh*t.
Ryan Garcia’s apology and announcement of rehab come after he faced heavy criticism for his comments about George Floyd. He later admitted his mistake on X and wrote that he takes full responsibility for his words. Garcia said he was misunderstood and is in a lot of trauma. He revealed that he struggles with substance abuse and it’s hard on him.
