Shoaib Akhtar Had Warn Team India ahead of Asia Cup final
Even though India rested several important players for the match, including star batter Virat Kohli, Akhtar claimed that India suffered a humiliating loss. Akhtar believes that India won’t have an easy time winning the championship because Sri Lanka upset tournament favorites Pakistan to go to the final.
“We did not anticipate India losing to a team like Bangladesh, but that is exactly what happened. It was a humiliating loss. Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan. The fact that they were eliminated from the Asia Cup is much more embarrassing. India is still in the championship. There is still hope for them. It served as a terrific wake-up call for them to perform even better going forward and ensure they win the match in the championship. India’s araam se jeet lega ye khala Ji ka ghar nahi hai. Nothing of the like will take place. The game would be challenging,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.
“Sri Lanka is competing against India. And heading into the World Cup, anyone could win. India must become aware. Bangladesh defeated them,” he continued.
India qualified for the final earlier this week by defeating Sri Lanka by 41 runs in a Super 4 game. However, in 2004 and 2008, Sri Lanka fell to India in the Super Four stage before defeating them in the championship match.
Shoaib Akhtar Disappointed Over Missed Opportunity Of India-Pakistan Final
Veteran cricketer Akhtar from Pakistan, who is well known for his open and impassioned opinions, didn’t hold back while discussing Pakistan’s defeat and the potential loss of playing against India in the final.
In a video released on the official X (previously Twitter) account, Akhtar began by praising young speed phenom Zaman Khan for his amazing performance despite joining the squad only before the game. However, as the video went on, Akhtar’s annoyance became obvious. He emphasized how everything was once again in place for the hoped-for final between India and Pakistan, which supporters from all over the world anxiously anticipated but bemoaned the fact that it had proven to be elusive in previous competitions.
