The names of India’s 15-man team for the 2018 ODI World Cup were revealed on Tuesday by captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI head selector Ajit Agarkar. KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah were all selected for the team, while Yuzvendra Chahal and Prasidh Krishna were not. Shikhar Dhawan’s withdrawal, however, saddened everyone since it meant that for the first time in ten years, the ICC’s opening batter would not be present at an ODI event. The Delhi-born player seemed to have a good attitude in life despite being rejected by the squad. Scroll down to read, Shikhar Dhawan Visit Mahakaleshwar Temple With Akshay Kumar.

A video of the cricketer went viral on social media on Saturday. Dhawan and the well-known Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar were seen praying at Baba Mahakaleshwar’s Jyotirling temple in Ujjain.
In a statement to the media, Dhawan said that he came to seek God’s blessings and prayed for Team India to win the 2018 ODI World Cup. Dhawan told the reporters, “Everyone wants India to win the World Cup, and I have made the same request.”
Notably, Akshay celebrated his 56th birthday on Saturday along with his sister Alka Bhatia and son Aarav.
Regarding Dhawan, the 37-year-old batsman recently used X (formerly Twitter) to thank every player who had been chosen to represent Team India in the ODI World Cup 2023. Dhawan tweeted, “I’d like to congratulate my teammates and friends who were selected to represent India in the WC 2023 competition! You carry our aspirations and dreams, and 1.5 billion people are praying for you. I hope you’ll bring the trophy back and represent us well! Team India, go all out.”
Agarkar had previously commented, “Rohit is not a poor player, Shubman has had a wonderful year, during the unveiling of the Asia Cup 2023 roster. Ishan Kishan is an additional name. For India, Shikhar has been a fantastic performer. Three men are now functioning properly, but there is only room for 15. Sadly, someone needs to take a seat. These are currently the openers we prefer.”
