Sexual noises disrupt Euro 2024 draw live broadcast
While the team names were being read aloud on stage, strange moaning noises fought for attention during Saturday’s European Championship draw ceremony.
The disruption, which sounded like sexual sounds, could be heard clearly for a few minutes during the event that was streamed live from a Hamburg concert hall.
On social media, a British practical joker took credit for the prank and shared a video of him calling cell phones to turn on a ringtone in the acoustically great arena.
The prankster appeared to be inside the venue during a rehearsal for the hour-long Saturday night concert in a subsequent video that was uploaded to the social media platform X, which was formerly Twitter.

The sounds began on Saturday following the announcement of Switzerland’s name and the drawing of a ball by former Spain and Manchester City player David Silva to determine the team’s position in the schedule.
The head of the Swiss soccer federation, Dominique Blanc, was shown in the following photograph staring up at the stage with a bewildered expression.
The drawing for the final six spots for lower-ranked teams in the 24-nation tournament lineup was carried out after UEFA Director of Competitions Giorgio Marchetti took notice of the noise in his commentary. The sound persisted intermittently until the draw was finished.
ESPN has requested a statement from UEFA.
The BBC live coverage of Wolves vs. Liverpool in January was interrupted by similar sounds, which were later identified as the result of a prank involving a cell phone near the studio.
Later, the BBC expressed regret for offending any viewers.
Following an incident at a cricket match in 2021, the internet prankster was previously banned for two years from any sporting events in England and Wales. During an England vs. India cricket test match, he raced onto the field and collided with an England batter.
From June 14 to July 14, ten German towns will host Euro 2024, with the Olympiastadion in Berlin serving as the host venue.
