WWE World Champion Seth Rollins suffered an injury during the main event fight of Monday Night Raw against Jinder Mahal. While some believed that Rollins was selling the knee issue for storyline purposes, time will tell how serious the injury actually was, as Rollins was helped to the back. According to a report, Rollins received assistance backstage and was eventually seen putting weight on his injured leg. Despite walking on his own, he was clearly limping.
Rollins put a great show in front of the audience
After Raw went off the air, Rollins took time to cut a promo in front of the live crowd and seemed to be putting on a good show, even though he was on his knees. Still, it seemed clear that something was wrong when he caught the official’s attention as the show was closing, hinting that he might be having a problem standing. Ultimately, he did so.
Rollins continued to fight despite suffering the injury
The severity of the injury will only be determined through further evaluation. It is still unclear when the injury happened, but Rollins began favoring his leg after diving at ringside. Despite the setback, he executed additional moves, including the pedigree and stomp, to end the match in his favor. Rollins’ anxiety was visible at the conclusion of Raw and he stood on one leg while receiving the WWE World Heavyweight title from the referee. Although continuing to wrestle might have aggravated his injury, the fact that Rollins continued wrestling after the initial setback is a positive sign.
Two big events are around the corner
If the injury is anything more than a little soreness, it would be an absolutely terrible time for Rollins to come down with a major injury. The Royal Rumble is just 12 days away and the WrestleMania is coming too. WWE is teasing a program with CM Punk that would be a huge marquee match for the biggest event of the year. Although it is too early to predict whether the match will be in danger, it would be one of the worst-case scenarios. Fans are hoping it’s not a big injury. It might be best if Rollins takes some time off.
