WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins provided an optimistic update on his recovery from injury in a recent interview with ESPN. Seth revealed that although he escaped a serious ACL injury, his MCL will heal over time, with the goal of returning to full strength in about a month. This is a much better prognosis than what was originally feared and revealed on Monday Night Raw.
Rollins wants to be the part of the Historic event
While he called it his self-made timeline, Rollins expressed relief at avoiding a long absence and is determined to step back into the ring before WrestleMania 40. He stressed the importance of being part of the marquee event, especially the importance of this year’s edition marking the 40th anniversary. He said, “The MCL will heal with time. We’ll get in there, we’ll do some stuff, we’ll check on the PRP and do some rehab.”
Rollins further said, “I’m hoping to be back at full strength in about a month. About a month is kind of my timeline, and we’ll see what happens. We’re gonna take it day to day. I’d like to be back in a month.”
Rollins wants to have a match before WrestleMania
The World Champion accepted the challenge of rehabilitation, but remained confident in his desire to test his abilities before WrestleMania 40. Rollins believes that he might have a match before the biggest event of the year. He doesn’t want to have his first match after coming back to be directly at WrestleMania. He wants to test his wheels and make sure he is in a good place.
“We’ll see how it goes, but I’m taking it day by day, and I’m happy that we dodged a bullet and it wasn’t anything too serious that was gonna put me on the shelf for six to nine months”, he added.

While “The Architect” admitted that rehab will be a challenge, he is excited about the timeline of his return. As Rollins focuses on a speedy recovery, WWE fans are restlessly awaiting updates on Rollins’ returns and potential matchups ahead of the historic premium event, WrestleMania 40. As far as he wrestles, there are various reports that he may be set to face CM Punk, while some are wondering if he might face off against Gunther.
