There are many big rivalries going on in WWE currently, but the one between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre is definitely the hottest one. Now Seth Rollins has also gotten involved in this, as he will be the special guest referee in their match at SummerSlam 2024. Things are now going to get more fun at the Biggest party of the summer.
Rollins’ outfit is getting trolled
Seth “Freaklin” Rollins kicked off the latest episode of Raw to promote the highly anticipated contest between McIntyre and Punk and laid down the rules. However, the outfit Seth wore during that segment is being criticized now on social media. The Visionary is even being accused of taking a serious event lightly.
Rollins is known for wearing flamboyantly decorated outfits as part of his gimmick. On the latest Raw edition, Rollins entered the ring wearing a puffed-sleeve striped shirt, black pants and matching zebra-print shoes. However, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer criticized Seth’s outfit, saying that his look undermined the seriousness of the rivalry between the Scottish Warrior and the Chicago native.
“This is a deadly serious program and he is making it comedy. I don’t think it was the right match to do the gimmick, but he did,” said Meltzer.
According to Meltzer, Rollins’ choice of this attire kept him from taking the event seriously. After the segment, Rollins posted a photo of himself in the same outfit on X and stated that it was an appetizer and the main course will be served at SummerSlam. Still, Rollins has set the serious tone by telling CM Punk and Drew McIntyre that they were not allowed to lay hands on each other before the premium live event. The clash between these two has been brewing for quite some time. It will be interesting to see how things go at SummerSlam, given Rollins will be the referee of the match.
Seth might team up with Drew at SummerSlam
Although Seth Rollins has had his differences with Drew McIntyre, his rivalry with CM Punk is definitely more personal. Because Seth and Drew have similar feelings for Punk, the “Cookie Monster” will need to look out over both his shoulders. There is definitely a possibility that Rollins will team up with McIntyre to help him get the win over Punk. If the Scottish warrior wins over Punk, this could lay the foundation for a major feud between Punk and Rollins, which was originally planned for WrestleMania XL.
