Preview of the Game
Serbia and Germany have played against each other once before, at the FIBA World Championship, which was the World Cup’s predecessor. This was in a Group A match at the 2010 edition of the tournament, in which Germany defeated Serbia by 82-81. The match went into double overtime.
If we talk about the upcoming match, it seems that there will definitely be a tough contest .Germany is led by NBA stars Dennis Schroder , Daniel Theis and Moritz Wagner and has not been defeated in the tournament so far. Their perfectly balanced attack has proven to be the best, which is difficult for opposing teams to break.
For team Serbia, consistency has been the key and with this persistence, they knocked out quality teams like Lithuania and Canada in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. Bogdan Bogdanovic has proven to be a great leader for the team and has averaged 19.4 points till now. He is efficiently supported by Nikola Milutov and Nikola Jovic as well.
Prediction
Serbia and Germany’s face-off will be an interesting watch, as both teams have shown their capability and worthiness of becoming world champions. However, it’s hard not to choose Germany because they are undefeated in the tournament. Both teams had a tough ladder to climb, which included strong teams like Slovenia and Australia in the first round. Serbia had to put up a tough fight and if they consistently got their shots in the final, it could be difficult for a team like Germany.
