UFC fighter Sean Strickland is once again involved in the controversy because of his political statement. This time his callous views towards the homeless in America have made fans disagree with him. Strickland appears to not have compassion for the homeless people that every other normal person has. The former UFC middleweight champion believes that people suffering from poverty consume illegal drugs and are not willing to help themselves.
Former middleweight champion’s harsh comments on homeless people
Strickland is one of the most popular MMA fighters, but he is often in controversy because of his blunt comments. His X account is filled with controversial opinions about the political landscape and trending topics. This time, “Tarzan” has landed himself in trouble after expressing his thoughts about homeless people in the USA. Those who suffer from poverty can’t afford care, so this topic is always spoken about in a compassionate manner. However, Strickland has a different perspective about this topic. “Tarzan” claims that he doesn’t understand everyone’s compassion towards homeless people and called the poor “drug zombies.”
“They bring drugs and crime around your children. You all need to man up and sack up,” wrote Strickland.
Fans react to the comments
Many fans are now disagreeing with Sean after his harsh comments. His reply section is flooded with his own fans who are disappointed with him for the controversial topic. A popular journalist named Helen Yee also hit back at the fighter by speaking about her own experience with homeless people. Yee revealed that when she volunteered at the homeless shelter, she got to hear the stories of those people and it would be sad to see how some people ended up there. Strickland failed to differentiate them into categories.
Another user called Killashaw wrote, “You would be homeless if it wasn’t for UFC.” She further criticized Sean by stating that he only talks nonsense because of CTE. Strickland agreed to this tweet by writing, “Probably lol.” Another user also stated that if Sean was not a successful fighter, he would have also been one of those people.
Several comments like these are accusing Strickland of having no empathy for the homeless people who are struggling. Sean has made several posts attacking homeless people. Despite receiving heavy criticism over the matter, it seems “Tarzan” doesn’t like to back down from his views on the controversial topics.
