She received training in their village of Balali, Haryana, from her father, Mahavir Singh Phogat. Now, in a viral video, Sangeeta has lifted cricketer Yuzi Chahal on her shoulder.
Sangeeta has made a name for herself in the 59kg wrestling division as a national medallist. She has won medals at age-level international championships but has not yet taken home a senior international title.
Her first international medal in two years came from her bronze in the Hungary Ranking Series wrestling competition in 2023, showcasing her talent. This triumph was celebrated amid demonstrations by Indian female wrestlers, including Sangeeta, to draw attention to the continuous struggle for justice and fair treatment.

A humorous moment starring Phogat went viral. She demonstrated her strength at a celebration for the dance show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” by supporting cricket player Yuzvendra Chahal on her shoulders.
