In a touching act that brought the worlds of sports and politics together. At the dedication of the future Varanasi International Cricket Stadium, former renowned batsman Sachin Tendulkar gave Prime Minister Narendra Modi a unique “NAMO Jersey.” The Varanasi event, which brought sports and politics together in a memorable way, was characterised by a strong sense of solidarity and patriotism.
The number 1 and the word “NAMO” are written beneath the jersey, giving it a special and individualised gift from one icon to another. Since they have a similar vision for the growth of sports in India, Sachin, who is frequently referred to as the “Little Master” and is recognised as one of the best cricket players of all time, has a close relationship with Prime Minister Modi.
The actual laying of the foundation stone was a historic event that represented India’s dedication to elevating cricket to a major international sport. India’s position as a cricketing powerhouse would be further enhanced by the construction of a world-class stadium in Varanasi.

According to reports, the stadium’s construction will cost about 450 crores of Indian rupees. The Indian Cricket Board would spend over INR 331 crores on the project, while Yogi Adityanath’s administration in Uttar Pradesh spent about INR 121 crores to buy the stadium’s land. PM Modi declared that the stadium is devoted to Lord Shiva during the celebration of its foundation.
“This stadium in ‘Mahadev’s’ city will be named after ‘Mahadev’. The development of a world-class stadium in Kashi will assist the local athletes. “This stadium will rise to prominence in the Purvanchal region,” Prime Minister Modi said during the occasion.
This memorable encounter between Sachin Tendulkar and Prime Minister Modi served as a reminder of the role that sports play in building national pride and solidarity. The “NAMO Jersey” will probably have a particular place in the Prime Minister’s collection of mementoes because it serves as a reminder of how sports have helped to unite India’s diverse culture.
