SA vs AFG 2nd ODI: After suffering an embarrassing six-wicket defeat over Afghanistan, South Africa will look to make a comeback and level the series in the second ODI, scheduled to take place on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Afghanistan bundled out South Africa for just 106 runs on the board in the first innings. Later, they chased down the target in 26 overs with six wickets in hand. Heading into the second ODI, Shahidi and Co. will look to seal the series 2-0.
South Africa Team Review
Apart from Wiaan Mulder, who scored a half-century, none of the South African batters got going in the first ODI. It was a forgettable outing with the bat as only three batters out of the top eight reached the double-digit mark.
Mulder top-scored with 52 off 84, while Bjorn Fortuin was the second-highest run-getter with 16 runs to his name. Heading into the second game, the top-three batters- Reeza Hendricks, Tony de Zorzi and Markram need to give the team a solid start. The onus will be on them to lay the foundation.
Tristan Stubbs got out for a duck as he would look to make a solid comeback. With the ball, Bjorn Fortuin was terrific, returning with 2 for 22 in nine overs. Ngidi also did his job well as he conceded just six runs in four overs and picked up a wicket as well. Nandre Burger had a decent outing and should look to dish out an improved performance in the next game.
Afghanistan Team Review
It was Fazalhaq Farooqui, who laid the foundation of win, as he started with a superb spell. The left-arm seamer sent the top-three batters back to the hut for just 25 runs on the board. He finished with figures of 4 for 35.
Allah Ghazanfar complimented him wonderfully as he scalped three wickets for 20 runs. Besides, Rashid Khan remains an automatic pick for your fantasy team. He picked up two wickets in the last game.
Afghanistan didn’t start well with the bat, either. South Africa had them in a sort of worry at 60 for 4. However, Omarzai (25) and Gulbadin Naib (34) steadied the ship, thereafter, and took the team home, comfortably in the end.
SA vs AFG 2nd ODI Today Match Prediction
Afghanistan showed South Africa their potential and made them realize what they could do in such conditions. South Africa, on the other hand, had a horrendous day with the bat.
Having said that, the Proteas are going to fight back and are likely to come back hard at the Afghans. They would look to level the series and take it to the series decider. We are backing South Africa to win the game.

SA vs AFG 2nd ODI Pitch Report Sharjah
The match is scheduled to be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The boundaries are shorter but despite that, seamers have found plenty of purchase with the new ball. Batters need to take their time before unleashing their shorts. From what we saw in the first game, anything above 250 looks like a decent score at this surface.
