This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown marked the return of the blue brand to USA Network after spending the last five years on FOX. The show began with a new logo and a new theme song by Megan Thee Stallion, before opening with a short promo from Triple H introducing Cody Rhodes’ first match, defending his undisputed WWE championship inside a steel cage against the Bloodline’s current Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa. When “The American Nightmare” was under attack from the faction, it was Roman Reigns who returned to save him.
Reigns returned weeks after being attacked
The first hour of Friday Night’s SmackDown was commercial-free. As Cody Rhodes took on Sikoa inside the steel cage, the crowd cheered with full excitement. After multiple near falls, Cody finally jumped off the top of the cage and emerged victorious. However, his win was short-lived as the Bloodline came out and attacked Rhodes inside the cage. As Jacob Fatu went to the top of the cage, ready to jump down on the champion, Reigns’ music hit and he came to the ring.
After Roman took out half of The Bloodline, Jacob Fatu entered the ring. WWE has done a pretty good job of keeping the two apart so far and this continued on September 13, as Sikoa pulled Fatu out of the ring before he and Roman could clash. After this, Reigns turned to Cody Rhodes, who helped him fight off the Bloodline and nodded respectfully to him before turning his attention to Sikoa in the aisleway.

Later in the night, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis had a contract drawn up for Reigns and Cody Rhodes to take on the Bloodline, but the Undisputed champion said he was done and ready to move on. “The OTC” stood in the ring and told the crowd he didn’t need Aldis, the contract, or Cody Rhodes to take on the Bloodline. He went on to call himself not the original Tribal Chief but the only Tribal Chief.

This led to Cody Rhodes coming to the ring and reminding him that it was no longer Roman’s WWE but his. When the two looked ready to fight, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa attacked them. After getting rid of them, Reigns signed the contract while Sikoa and Jacob Fatu were standing outside. Eventually, Cody Rhodes signed as well, setting up a match between Rhodes and Reigns vs. Sikoa and Fatu at Bad Blood.
