Early Life of Rinku Singh
Rinku has been passionate about cricket since he was a small child, and he has worked arduously to make a name for himself in the game. He started playing cricket at an early age and joined a neighborhood group to further his skills. However, Rinku was compelled to work as a laborer in a brick kiln to support his family due to their dire financial circumstances.
Despite these challenges, Rinku never gave up on his passion for cricket. He continued to participate in neighborhood events and play for his squad. An adjacent event attracted the attention of a talent scout, who immediately recognized his ability.
Domestic Career
At the age of 16, Rinku Singh made his List A debut while competing for Uttar Pradesh Cricket in March 2014. Following an outstanding debut, he continued to dominate the game in scoring with a total of 83 runs. Rinku Singh played in 50 of the games and accumulated 1,749 runs overall with an average strike rate of 95.15.
On November 5, 2016, Singh made his professional debut for the Uttar Pradesh team in a first-class match. He was involved in numerous effective innings.
List A Games
In his first seven List-A games, Rinku had already scored four fifty-scores, and everyone could tell that he had immense promise. Rinku Singh put up another impressive performance, in a recent Vijay Hazare Trophy encounter for Uttar Pradesh. He scored 91 runs off 44 balls against Tripura.
In the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, Rinku had a breakout season, amassing 953 runs in ten games at an average of 105.88 with 430 or more. Rinku was initially more well-known as a white-ball runner. He was the third-highest run-scorer overall.
In 78 T20 games, Singh has participated, amassing 1,392 runs total with a strike rate of 139.75.

2017
Rinku Singh’s IPL career officially began in February 2017 when he signed a deal with Kings XI Punjab, presently known as Punjab Kings. He was purchased by the team at the IPL auction for Rs 10 lakh. However, he did acquire a Rs. 80 lakh deal with Kolkata Knight Riders just after a year. It’s important to notice that teams bid against each other to employ the batter for a sum that was four times his base salary of Rs. 20 lakhs.
2018
Rinku Singh only played in 4 games during his first season with KKR, but he still managed to score 29 runs in the IPL. The team chose to keep the batter for the following seasons after realizing his potential while also providing him with further training at the KKR academy.
2022
Singh was unable to participate in the IPL in 2021 due to a knee injury. He was finally replaced on the KKR lineup for that season by Gurkeerat Singh Mann. In the 2022 auction, KKR once more bought Rinku Singh for Rs 55 lakh. In his nine games played so far in 2023, Rinku has amassed 270 runs with a strike rate of 151.69. His highest rating is a 58*. On April 9, 2023, he scored 48 off 21 balls, including 5 sixes in the final 5 balls of the final over, to help Kolkata Knight Riders defeat GT.
Controversy
The Board of Cricket for Cricket in India (BCCI) punished Rinku Singh in 2019 for participating in an unauthorized T20 match in Abu Dhabi. Rinku Singh allegedly violated the BCCI’s norms and regulations by taking part in the T20 competition without first receiving permission from the group.
According to BCCI rules, a player registered with the board is not allowed to participate in any events abroad. Rinku Singh has been placed on indefinite leave with pay beginning on June 1 with immediate effect. He did not play for India ‘A’ against Sri Lanka ‘A’ on May 31, 2019.
