WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley was upset when her faction, Judgement Day, finally split at SummerSlam 2024. The group started with Edge, Damian Priest and Rhea in 2022 and added several other new members over the past two years, including Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh. The faction split at SummerSlam when Dominik Mysterio betrayed his Mami while Balor turned on Damian. Although the betrayal was part of the storyline, it still emotionally affected Ripley.
Ripley admitted weeping after the faction split
It was reported that a member of the faction was seen crying backstage, but the identity of the superstar was initially unknown. However, during her recent appearance at The Wrestling Classic, Rhea Ripley revealed that it was her who had been crying.
“Judgement Day was really family to me, like it really was. It has helped my career so much that I can’t really put it into words because I think that was when I started opening up and feeling comfortable going out there in front of the crowd because I had the boys to fall back on. So it was really emotional for me,” said Ripley.
Judgement Day was like a real family for Rhea
The former WWE women’s champion also stated that she isn’t ashamed of the fact that she broke down in tears after the faction ended. The last two and a half years were very special for her and she knew she couldn’t go back to that time. Rhea stated that the boys were like family to her and she was very sad about the end of it all. However, Rhea admitted that they were all moving towards something better and she was happy that something good was expected to come out of it.
Rhea further said, “It was the most fun I have had in my career in a long time. I felt invincible and I felt like I could go out there and just be a cheeky little menace, get away with it for real and have fun with my friends.”
