The Royal Challengers Bangalore fans received a major shock on Saturday when the team’s Twitter account abruptly disappeared in the early morning. Followers were shocked by the sudden shutdown of the account, and rumors about possible motives for the action immediately spread. Up until last night, RCB’s account had received a lot of activity. So many people questioned whether revamping the account was a wise strategic move. Scroll down to read the scoop about the RCB Twitter account gets deactivated abruptly.
RCB Twitter Account Gets Deactivated Abruptly
The franchise’s Instagram account, which had the same profile photo and name as its Twitter account before was deactivated. It was still operational, raising the intriguing possibility that it had been accidentally deleted. Before a large social media build-up from the team, RCB altered its logo three years before the 2020 season. And in fact, it was the case because the Twitter account was eventually reinstated.
Social media was ablaze with reactions and memes about what might have precipitated the deactivation, but as fans were kept in the know about the precise reasons for the deactivation throughout RCB’s absence on Twitter, they were in the dark.

RCB experienced heartbreak once more in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). They were unable to earn a playoff spot. The club finished the season in sixth place with a total of 14 points after a playoff race that lasted to the final day of the group stage, extending their quest for the coveted first IPL trophy.
But despite the season’s uneven results, Virat Kohli’s improved performance stood out as a notable silver lining. Throughout 14 games, Kohli amassed an astounding total of 639 runs, showing a surprising return to his batting skills for the star cricketer who had recently had some form variations.
Faf du Plessis, the captain of the RCB, had a fantastic season with the bat as well, accumulating 730 runs in 14 games. In terms of most runs scored, he was second, and Kohli was fourth. But RCB’s middle-order batting difficulties continued into the season, and Rajat Patidar’s absence—who had been one of their main hitters in 2022—only made matters worse.
