After R Ashwin it’s Ravindra Jadeja who is turning heads around in the ongoing Test series against England. On Saturday day 3 of the third Test, Jadeja reached the landmark of 200 Test wickets on home ground after dismissing England’s Captain Ben Stokes in England’s first innings.
Jadeja sent Stokes back in the hut for 41 when England’s score was 299 & with Root’s dismissal he became the fifth Indian to complete 200 Test wickets on Indian soil. He is behind Anil Kumble (350), R Ashwin (347), Harbhajan Singh (265), & Kapil Dev (219) on the list.
How did Ravindra Jadeja achieve 200 Test wickets on home ground feat?

In the ongoing third Test, along with Stokes Jadeja went on to dismiss Hartley in his spell of 10 overs conceeding 51 runs. He didn’t shy of proving his prowess with the bat & became the third Indian cricketer to achieve 3000 Test runs & more than 250 Test wickets on Thursday. He achieved this great milestone when he scored a crucial century (112 runs) & scalped two wickets during the ongoing Rajkot Test.
Kapil Dev is leading the list of players with more than 3000 runs in Test with 5,248 runs & 434 wickets in 131 matches followed by Ashwin who has amassed 3,271 runs with 500 Test wickets in 98 matches. Now coming on the third spot is Jadeja who has 30003 runs & 280 wickets in 70 matches.

Coming to the fixture, India has dismissed the visitors for just 319 runs taking a 124-run lead on Day 3 of the third Test. Other than Except Duckett (153 off 151 balls) & Stokes (41 off 89) none of the batters could withstand India’s bowling attack. As a result, England’s innings ended on 319 runs giving the hosts a good 124 runs lead. For India, the star bowler was none other than pacer Mohammed Siraj who scalped four wickets in his spell of 21.1 overs conceding 24 runs. Other than Jadeja Kuldeep Yadav scalped two wickets in 18 overs conceeding 77 runs on his spell. On the other hand, Bumrah & Ashwin scalped one wicket each in their respective spell.
India began the second innings & lost Rohit in the 12th over. However, Jaiswal (29 off 63) & Shubman Gill (12 off 33) are going strong & will continue to build India’s innings.
