Ahead of WWE Veteran Randy Orton’s return at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023, there was a speculation that he would retire due to his long absence. Recently, “The Viper” has revealed that his wife will tell him when it is the right time to end his career. Randy Orton is one of the biggest WWE superstars in the wrestling world. He debuted during the era of John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Batista and more. Orton is a 14 time WWE World champion and has a successful career in the company.
Orton appeared on Cody Rhodes’ show
Orton’s old rival and real-life friend John Cena is set to retire in 2025 and will begin his farewell tour next year. So wrestling fans have also been speculating about Orton’s retirement recently. During a recent appearance on ‘What Do You Want To Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, “The Viper” revealed that the decision about his retirement will be made by his wife. “I think do this for as long as I can and make sure, we brought up by wife Kim on a couple of occasions, she told me, ‘When it’s time to hang them up, I’ll let you know,” said Orton.
This not only proves that Orton is a doting husband but also that there is a great mutual understanding between him and his wife that she is the one who will take the decision about his retirement. Interestingly, his wife Kim Orton was a wrestling fan before they even met. This tells how greatly she is involved with Randy’s WWE career. Moreover, Randy Orton also said that he intends to take the same retirement path as his fellow superstar, John Cena.
Fans want to see Orton face Cena for one last time
Randy Orton specifically mentioned that once he retires, he will never wrestle again. Retirement in the wrestling industry seems like a myth because several superstars hang up their boots and then return to the ring for a few final matches. But John Cena seems determined on his retirement and similarly, “The Viper” has no intention of returning after officially retiring from pro wrestling. While Cena’s retirement tour is underway, fans are wishing for his final match with Randy Orton. Given their history of rivalry and memorable matches, it only makes sense that Orton should retire Cena. Many people are also suggesting a big clash between the two at WrestleMania.
