According to a source cited by the magazine, “Rajkumar Hirani has been preparing a biopic about Lala Amarnath since 2019. It was really one of the two scripts he presented to SRK, but the star opted for Dunki, therefore the biopic was temporarily shelved. Hirani intends to relaunch the Lala Amarnath biopic after the release of Dunki and has urged his writing staff to complete the script before the end of the year. Hirani is dedicated to beginning work on this story as soon as Dunki is out of his system because he is really passionate about it.”
Biopic of Lala Amarnath:
Lala Amarnath was born on September 11, 1911. He batted right-handed and bowled right-handedly and swiftly. For India, he took part in 24 tests, scoring a century and four half-centuries. He bowled 45 wickets in those various games, including two five-wicket hauls. He took part in 186 domestic matches. In the year 2000, the legendary cricketer passed away at the age of 88.
The source also spoke of the biopic’s amusement value. The biopic of Lala Amarnath is not like other sports biopics. Hirani will narrate his tale in his customarily engaging manner, subtly underlining Lala’s life, career, and lasting impact on Indian cricket. In this movie, an A-list rising star is anticipated. However, the director won’t choose anyone until he’s through filming Dunki, the source continued.
This is not the first big-budget film to explore Lala Amarnath’s persona. The Lala Amarnath figure appeared in a few moments of the critically acclaimed film 83 by Kabir Khan. It’s intriguing that Mohinder Amarnath, another renowned cricketer, and his son, played the part of him. Fans cannot wait to experience the on-screen magic created by the ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. He has created history with several bigwigs and critically acclaimed movies.
