PSG is the favorite to win the qualifying match, especially with home-field advantage for the second leg. PSG has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League in each of the last five seasons. Despite handing up the lead after Tabita Chawinga had opened the score in the 54th minute, the Parisians would have been happy with the first-leg outcome. This past weekend, PSG was back in action for a home league game against Reims. They were unable to finish the game because fireworks were being shot onto the field.
The match on Saturday, which had been scoreless until the 46th minute, was decided to be abandoned. The team led by Jocelyn Precheur will now focus on their midweek European match in an effort to snap a four-game losing streak in those competitions. They participated in yet another 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Sunday at home. It would have angered Marc Skinner, the manager of Man United. The Red Devils have now played out three straight draws in all competitions. They have avoided a loss in all four of their games so far this season. Man United will be motivated to get off to a strong start in their match against the opponent on Wednesday. They have given up the opening goal in each of their first four games.
