Norway will be looking to make the most of the visit of Jordan after just one win in their last six games. Jordan, their rivals, are currently in a completely different shape. They just have only one loss in the same number of games.
Preview (Norway vs. Jordan)
Norway’s prospects of competing in the tournament were maintained with an excellent 3-1 victory over Cyprus in their UEFA Euro qualifiers on Wednesday. Ola Solbakken scored in the 93rd minute. It had no bearing on the outcome because Erling Haaland scored a brace and had two assists. Stale Solbakken will be well aware that he needs more from his team as a whole. They have only won one of their previous six games overall, across all competitions. The most recent triumph marked the first time in any of those games that Norway scored more than once. It has been a major issue for the team as a whole.
It has been a challenging time for Norway due to a lack of goals and their inability to keep a clean sheet. With more qualification matches coming up, it is critical that Norway take advantage of this to gain momentum. The visitors, though, have a lot of that because they have only dropped one game in their last six. They have displayed consistency and excellence. Jordan has had little trouble scoring goals during that time. This is evidenced by their 15 goals, which show up their skill in front of the goal.
They will probably cause Norway a lot of problems this week if they continue playing in that manner. Especially considering how well Adnan Hamad’s team has defended. Jordan has preserved four clean sheets in their last six games. This time around their combination of offensive and defensive strengths should cause lots of issues.
Team News
Given that Haaland is the standout player for Norway and plays for Manchester City, the focus will be on him to lead the hosts to victory in this match. The attacking combination of Solbakken, Alexander Sorloth, and him, though, has the ability to cause significant issues on Thursday night. Yazan Al-Arab will probably have his hands full in the visitors’ central defense position, therefore it will be crucial for Jordan’s success if he puts in a great individual effort.
Jordan will not hold back in this game, though, as they usually go for goals in an effort to stay competitive. They will be playing in a 3-4-3 configuration. Although Jordan may enter this match in better shape than it has recently, the hosts’ attacking strengths are probably going to be too much. Although Haaland is under a lot of strain, he is capable of handling it and has the potential to lead Norway to victory in this match.
