Kayserispor will host Alanyaspor in the Super Lig as they look to move into the top six. In the meantime, the visitors to Kadir Has Stadium are hoping to get a win so they can get some distance between themselves and the teams in the bottom four.
Preview (Kayserispor vs. Alanyaspor)
After placing ninth in the 2022–2023 season, Kayserispor should naturally aim for a higher place this time. Right now, everything is going according to plan, with the Anatolian Star winning only two of their first 10 games and amassing 16 points. These losses came at the hands of Ankaraguru and Besiktas within a few weeks of one another. Recep Ucar’s team bounced back with consecutive victories. Kayserispor ended their wait for an away victory in this season’s Super Lig after defeating Hatayspor 2-1. They scored either side of halftime following a 3-1 triumph over Rizespor.
Although Ucar’s team has the fourth-best defensive record in the division. Their last two games have seen five of their 12 league goals for 2023–24. Alanyaspor has experienced a fairly peculiar start to the season, having opened with a victory and four draws. Since then, though, they have recorded four losses in five games. Their only victory during that time came against Fatih Karagumruk at home. In their last two games, Alanyaspor suffered narrow losses to Trabzonspor and Sivasspor; it has now been eight games since they maintained a clean sheet. The fact that Fatih Tekke’s team has only managed one goal in four away games this season further emphasizes how difficult their assignment will be on Monday night.
Team News
Ucar might choose the same Kayserispor XI after holding out for three points at Hatayspor. Anthony Uzodimma, who has started eight of the ten games this season, may be called up to right back in the event of a change, and Ramazan Civelek, who is a versatile player, is also a possibility. Richard’s one-match suspension for receiving four yellow cards will require Alanyaspor to make at least one change.
In center midfield, Nicolas Janvier seems to be the obvious choice, but Leroy Fer is urging a comeback from injury. If Tekke wants to experiment with that position or switch up his approach, Furkan Bayir is a viable alternative in the middle of the backline. Alanyaspor will do every effort to secure a victory, considering their dismal away performance this season. But even if they don’t perform at their best, we think Kayserispor is playing well enough to win this match, so we’re going to go with a close home win.
