The LA Clippers will face the Washington Wizards on January 31 (Wednesday) at Capital One Arena. The matchup is part of the league’s 10-game slate on the last day of the month. The two teams will face each other for the first time this season. The Clippers are coming off a tough 10-point loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, which snapped their five-game winning streak. They are currently in fourth place in the Western Conference with a 30-15 record. Meanwhile, the Wizards are in second-last place in the Eastern Conference with a 9-27 record.
Preview
The Wizards have their shooting guard, Landry Shamet, on the injured reserve list due to illness. Isiah remains on the list as well, with a persistent hip injury. On the other hand, Clippers’ starting center Ivica Zubac is out with a calf injury and is expected to return in mid-February. Moussa Diabate is also unavailable and is expected to rejoin the team around the same time as Zubac.
Starting lineup
Mason Plumlee will start for the Clippers in place of Ivica Zubac and will join Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. James Harden will control the floor with Terance Mann. For the Wizards, Jordan Poole, Tre Jones, and Daniel Gafford will get the chance to start at center over Marvin Bagley III. Denny Advija and Kyle Kuzma will be moved to the starting five.
Betting tips & Prediction
Paul George’s NBA prop is at 20.5 points. He has topped that mark only once in the last five games and with so many scoring options on the Clippers roster, keeping him over would be a risk. For the Wizards, Jordan Poole is 16.5 on his NBA prop. He has barely gone past this figure twice in two of the last three games, but it is still a risk to get a good game from him this season.
