Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz: Prediction (2024)

The Golden State Warriors will face the Utah Jazz at Delta Center Arena on February 12 (Monday). This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season, with their most recent matchup taking place on December 8, 2022, where Warriors won 112-107. The Jazz leads the all-time matchup 115-83 against the Warriors.

The Warriors are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference and are on a four game winning streak. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games and seem to finally have reached a level of consistency that was missing in the first half of the season. In their most recent contest against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, Steph Curry hit the game-winning three-pointer to give them a 113-112 win. He scored 30 points, nine rebounds and six assists. The Jazz are 11th in the Western Conference and  lost their most recent game to the Suns on Thursday. Utah has won only four of the last 10 games.

Starting lineup

Chris Paul remains out for the Warriors as he is recovering from a left hand injury. Gui Santos is also questionable because of his left knee pain. The Golden State Warriors are expected to start with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green.

Brice Sensabaugh is listed as questionable for Utah due to left hip soreness. Otto Porter Jr. is also questionable due to soreness in his left foot. The Jazz is expected to start with Collin Sexton, Kris Dunn, Lauri Markkanen, John Collins and Walker Kessler.

Betting tips & Prediction

Curry has an over/under of 29.5 points for the game. “The Golden Boy” has played brilliantly in the last two games and has hit 20 three-pointers overall. He should also have a great game on Monday and finish the night over 29.5 points. Lauri Markkanen has an over/under of 23.5 points. He is expected to be aggressive and finish the night with over 23.5 points.

The Warriors have won six of their last seven games and are slightly favored for the upcoming matchup. Given their record, Golden State should cover the win spread. Their defense has also been strengthened by the return of Gary Payton II. The team total is expected to be less than 242.
