Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets: Prediction (2024)

The Golden State Warriors will face the Houston Rockets on April 4 (Thursday) at the Toyota Center. This will be the third and final meeting between the two teams this season. The Warriors won the previous two matchups and will look to sweep the season series. However, the Rockets have the all-time lead of 126-106 against the Warriors. Golden State won the most recent matchup against Houston on November 20. Steph Curry scored 32 points and five rebounds in that game. While Alperen Sengun had 30 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block for the Rockets.

The Warriors are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 41-34 record. They have won five consecutive games, which is the longest winning streak in the league right now. Their most recent win came against the Dallas Mavericks (104-100) on Tuesday. Andrew Wiggins led the team with 23 points, while Curry had just 13 points.

On the other hand, the Rockets are in 11th place in the West with a 38-37 record and are coming off two straight losses. Before the defeats, Houston won 11 consecutive games and came as close as just one game to the Golden State. These two defeats hindered their momentum for a play-in spot, but a win on Thursday could revive some hope.

Starting lineup

The Warriors have Jonathan Kuminga and Gary Payton II listed as questionable. Golden State will most likely start with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Trayce Jackson-Davis.

The Rockets will be without their star player, Alperen Sengun, in the upcoming contest, who is expected to be out for the rest of the season. They will most likely start with Dillon Brooks, Fred VanVleet, Jalen Green, Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith Jr.

Betting tips

Steph Curry’s over/under for the upcoming contest is 25.5 points. He didn’t have a good score against the Mavericks, but he could make a comeback against the Rockets and go over his points props.

Jalen Green’s over/under for the upcoming contest is 26.5 points. He might face difficulties going over his point props against the Warriors’ defense, which has stopped the opponent teams from scoring 100 points or less in four of their last five games.

The Warriors are favorites to win the upcoming game against the Rockets. Oddsmakers have also predicted that Golden State will cover the spread. Their defense should limit the Rockets, so the total is expected to go under 227 points.
