BCCI makes 2 vital changes in IPL 2024 Schedule

The BCCI has announced two vital changes in the schedule of IPL 2024. The fixture of April 17, 2024, between Kolkata Knight Riders & Rajasthan Royals will now be played a day earlier on April 16, 2024. On the other hand, the fixture between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, initially planned for April 16, 2024, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, will now take place on April 17, 2024.

In the IPL Press release, there is no reason mentioned for the changes in the schedule. Earlier it was reported that changes could be made in the schedule of IPL due to the festival of Ram Navmi which falls on April 17. This festival is celebrated largely in Gujarat & West Bengal and it could be one of the reasons why BCCI made the changes as security arrangements could have been a big hassle for the cities of Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

How is the IPL 2024 tournament shaping up?

Already 14 matches have been played in the tournament & currently, they are in a spot of bother with three losses at a go. They have suffered two losses in away matches while one loss came against RR at their home ground. Their captain Hardik Pandya is having a tough time as he has to deal with constant boos from the home crowd on one hand & consecutive defeats on the other hand. They are reeling at the bottom of the Points Table.

RR is leading the Points Table after winning all three matches so far. The team which is placed second is KKR who have won all the two matches they have played so far. Chennai Super Kinga (CSK) played 3 and won 2 with their only defeat so far coming against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Visakhapatnam. Coming to fans’ favorite RCB, the team is having a hot & cold season as they have just won one fixture & ended up losing two tight fixtures against CSK & KKR.
