Players who will not play this season of the Premier League. On Saturday, August 12, the English Premier League will begin, and most of the major clubs have completed the majority of their new acquisitions.
The likes of Rasmus Hojland, Andre Onana, and Alexis Mac Allister will all be playing in England in the forthcoming campaign and could be useful to their respective teams.
There are, however, a significant number of players who will play outside of England in the upcoming season.
In this article, we’ll look at three such footballers who won’t be playing in the Premier League starting in the next season:
#1 Ilkay Gundogan
Over the course of Pep Guardiola’s seven-year tenure at Manchester City, Gundogan flourished and achieved success. Not to mention, he achieved every potential success with the team, including the highly sought-after treble last year.
In more than 300 games for Manchester City, Gundogan scored 60 goals, many of them crucial ones, as the goal he scored on the final day of the 2021–22 season to secure City’s Premier League title victory.
Gundogan began his career as a defensive midfielder but developed the tendency to run into the penalty area of the opponent to routinely put himself in a scoring position. Barcelona, his new club, should reward him for his passing and goal-scoring prowess as well, although Manchester City fans in the Premier League will miss such attributes.
#2 Jordan Henderson
With nearly 500 club matches played in his 12 seasons with Liverpool, Henderson is one of the club’s longest-tenured players. Henderson is a defensive midfielder who can also play in the center of the field and on the right side of the field. He is the player who has come the closest to replicating Steven Gerrard’s impact on the Reds during the past ten or so years.
Henderson is a key member of every squad he plays for because of his leadership skills, long passing range, and ability to take free kicks. He is already 33, though, and his time playing football in the top division is running out. Therefore, relocating to the Middle East may be financially advantageous for him. However, from the upcoming season on, Liverpool fans and those of the other Premier League teams will undoubtedly miss their old leader.
#3 Fabinho
Another player who won’t be playing at Anfield starting in the following season is Fabinho. a center-back who can also play as a defensive midfielder. With the Reds, Fabinho has played in more than 200 games and has won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League with them.
The 30-year-old Brazilian makes clean tackles and typically helps his side out because of his excellent game-reading skills. He can also score goals with headers thanks to his exceptional aerial ability. Fabinho’s departure may impact Liverpool the most at the time because they are in the midst of a rebuilding phase and have sold many players.
