Pakistan is having a dismal show in the ongoing CWC 2023 as they have lost back-to-back three fixtures in the tournament. PCB has sought support from fans & former cricketers to back Babar Azam & CO who still have four matches to play in the league stage. After starting the campaign with two back-to-back wins, Pakistan has lost to India, Australia, and a lower-ranked Afghanistan as well.
Their defeat to Afghanistan has displayed their stance in the World Cup & the hard work they need to do to stay alive in the tournament. Pakistani fans are slamming Babar Azam for his poor leadership qualities & wrong selection decisions. Pakistan has failed to perform in every aspect of the game & there is no hope of their survival in the ODI World Cup 2023.
CWC 2023: PCB made a big statement about Azam & Inzamam
Looking at the amount of criticism & hate that the Pakistan Cricket team has received in the past few days the PCB has released a statement urging the fans to support Pakistan. “The PCB acknowledges the emotions and sentiments of cricket fans following the three consecutive defeats faced by the national team in the ICC World Cup 2023. In this challenging environment, the board administration hopes that the cricketing fraternity and fans will continue to support captain Babar Azam and the entire Pakistan cricket team,” the release states.
At the end of the Press Release, the PCB also mentioned that Babar Azam & Chief Selector Inzamam-Ul-Haq were given the freedom to choose a team for the World Cup. The release further stated that the PCB will make a decision in the best interest of the Pakistan cricket team based on their performance in the World Cup 2023. PCB concluded its statement by stating that the Players need their support & love to make a glorious comeback in the World Cup 2023.
How Can Pakistan stay alive in the ODI World Cup 2023?
The road to comeback is not easy for Pakistan as they have to win their remaining four fixtures against South Africa, New Zealand, England, and Bangladesh to stay alive in the tournament. South Africa & New Zealand are breaking fire & are ruling the Points table while England and Bangladesh are struggling. But as the league stage nears its end the teams will pull their socks & try to end the league stage on a high note to qualify for the semifinals.
Pakistan is all set to lock horns with South Africa in their next fixture on October 27, 2 p.m. at MA Chidambaram Stadium. While Pakistan will aim to bounce back & return to winning terms, South Africa will push its every effort to continue their winning spree & make Pakistan’s life miserable. Which team will win the fixture is yet to be known.
