India’s prolific spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal has finally opened up on a shocking snub by RCB in IPL 2022. The zealous leg-spinner who was a part of the Bangalore-based franchise for a few years was abruptly released by the franchise in the IPL 2022 mega auctions. The calm & composed spinner finally unveiled that he was angry with the franchise as they had promised to retain him in the IPL 2022 auctions but failed to do so.
Yuzvendra Chahal is currently a part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise who bought his services for a whopping amount during the IPL 2022 auctions. However, recalling his snub by RCB in IPL 2022, Yuzvendra Chahal said that the kind of behavior shown by the franchise left him angry & disappointed. He said that when he put his name for the auctions, RCB promised him that they will bid for Chahal. But on the auction day, they didn’t go for him which left him angry & disappointed.
Chahal also said that he didn’t speak with the coaches for 2-3 days. In fact when RCB played their first fixture against RR at that time also they didn’t interact with anyone from the team. He highlighted the fact that he has given eight years to the team. And after investing so much in a franchise you expect some sort of clear communication from the management.

Chahal highlighted the fact that the franchise didn’t even think of retaining him & simply announced the three retentions on call. And promised to buy him in the auctions but they didn’t discuss any fees with him. And all the allegations imposed on him for asking huge fees are false. Yuzvendra Chahal also emphasized that he had never thought of playing with any other team than RCB. After being released by RCB, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals & Delhi Capitals tried to grab the services of Chahal. But the battle was won by Rajasthan Royals who bought the services of the prolific spinner for a whopping 6.50 crores.
Chahal said that he is happy to be a part of Rajasthan Royals franchise
Speaking about his association with RR, Chahal said that whatever has happened has helepd him to grow in his career. He also revealed that joining RR helped him to emerge as a death bowler. As with RCB, he used to bowl until the 16th or 17th over, but with RR he got the chance of bowling in the death overs. He marked that bowling in death overs at RR has helped him to grow more by about 5-10% & he is happy to be associated with Rajasthan Royals. He concluded his interview by saying that his attachment with RCB continues but he is growing with Rajasthan Royals which is a positive for him.
For the unversed, Yuzvendra Chahal has shown tremendous growth with the RR franchise. He was the Purple Cap holder in IPL 2022 where he scalped 27 wickets at an average of 19.71 & helped RR to qualify for the IPL 2022 Final. Even in IPL 2023, Chahal continued his good run & was one of the contenders for Purple Cap.
