Lionel Messi continued to shine for Inter Miami after bringing his nation to its third FIFA World Cup victory the previous year. He scored in a nail-biting penalty shootout against Nashville SC to help his side win its first League Cup title. While his performance made him the center of attention on game day, his kind act towards the former captain of Inter Miami and his current colleague, DeAndre Yedlin, offered the supporters even another reason to laud his brilliance. Messi gave Yedlin the captain’s hat just as the team was making their way to the podium to display the League Cup they had just won. At first, the American right-back refused, but Messi was finally able to persuade him. Scroll down to Watch: Lionel Messi Wins Heart Over His Captain’s Armband.

With the League Cup victory, Messi extended his illustrious career in American football. He has not only scored 10 goals in seven games for the US club, but he has also played in every game for his new team without losing. Messi scored in his 37th Cup final of his career, helping his side win its first Leagues Cup victory.
To the delight of his supporters, Messi gave his team the lead in the 23rd minute by dribbling past two defenders and blasting the ball from the edge of the box into the top-left corner of the goal.
Lionel Messi On Joining Inter Miami
Messi made his first public remarks on Thursday since announcing on June 7 that he would be joining MLS team Inter Miami. At the Miami DRV PNK Stadium, he addressed a room that was jam-packed with journalists. Some people had to sit on the floor because the stadium was so crowded. He declared, “Ever since my arrival, we have had an excellent greeting. As of right now, I can say that I am quite satisfied with our choice.”
The 36-year-old claimed that he is still getting used to his new surroundings. In the meantime, his family is residing in South Florida as they search for a permanent residence. His three boys are about to begin kindergarten.
Florida is generally a lot simpler than anticipated in comparison to his relocation from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain. He played for PSG and is still getting acclimated to, the transition to “hot and humid.”
Messi stated, “I didn’t plan or want to travel to Paris. It was challenging since I didn’t want to leave Barcelona. However, thank God, it’s the reverse of what’s taking place right now.
