Shakib Al Hasan, the top all-round player for Bangladesh, is in a difficult situation after a video of him slapping a fan went viral on social media.
It is thought that Shakib had gone to watch the proceedings in one of the booths while he was running for a seat in the parliamentary elections; however, the exact timing of the video is unknown.
As word of the star all-rounder’s arrival spread, a sizable crowd quickly gathered at the spot in an attempt to get a peek at him. Shakib was surrounded by a sizable throng of fans as mayhem broke out as they flocked to see the all-round player.
Shakib was offended as one of them reached out to take his arm. After the all-rounder slapped the person, the footage went viral on social media.

Shakib wins MP seat with a thumping win
On Sunday, January 7, amidst all the commotion surrounding the viral video, Shakib would score a major victory when he was elected to the Parliament. According to sources, the all-rounder, who was running for the Awami League from Magura-1, won by an overwhelming majority of more than 150,000 votes.
It was a “landslide victory,” according to district administrator Abu Naser Beg, who spoke to AFP.
Shakib played his final international match for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka in the World Cup. Bangladesh, led by the all-rounder, won just two games during the tournament and placed eighth in the standings, indicating that he wasn’t playing at his best. Bangladesh won just two of their nine league games, resulting in an 8th-place finish in the points table. It was a poor campaign.
During the competition, Shakib only managed to score 186 runs in seven innings and take seven wickets. He also suffered an injury that forced him to return home before Bangladesh’s last match.
