Hardik Pandya, captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), recently spoke out about the unfavourable remarks made by the supporters following his assumption of the team’s captaincy. After a high-profile trade with Gujarat Titans, Skipper Hardik Pandya rejoined MI and was appointed captain, taking over from Rohit Sharma, who captained the team for the previous ten years and helped them win a record-tying five titles.
The team’s new captain acknowledged that he couldn’t handle the negative response and emotions of the supporters. In order to perform at his peak on the field, the 30-year-old continued, he focus primarily on his sport.
Speaking alongside head coach March Boucher during the preseason press conference, Hardik stated, “I can appreciate the fans’ outcry. But I pay attention to the game. The controllable is in my hands. I don’t pay attention to outside influences. I am appreciative of my followers. Theirs is a great deal of fame, name, and affection. They have every right and I respect their opinion.”
Skipper Hardik Pandya gets candid:

Hardik Pandya revealed more about his friendship with Rohit Sharma, mentioning that they have both played together at the IPL and international levels. The all-around talisman continued by pledging to uphold the heritage and unmatched feats that the seasoned opener has brought to the team. Interestingly, their friendship would be crucial to Mumbai’s success in the upcoming campaign.
Hardik continued, “It won’t be any different because Rohit will support me if I require it. I also benefit from the fact that he is the Indian team’s captain. I will just continue what he has started with this team. Thus, I don’t anticipate anything unusual or uncomfortable. Given that we have been playing together for ten years, it will be a pleasant feeling. I know he will always have a hand on my shoulder because I have played under him.”
The seasoned batter will now focus on the 2024 Mumbai Indians Indian Premier League season. Indian fans have long been enthralled with Rohit Sharma, popularly known as Hitman, one of the best batsmen in the opening position.
