A group of 40 sub-junior men’s hockey players will receive coaching from legendary midfielder Sardar Singh when the national camp begins on Monday in Rourkela. Hockey India has put together a 40-person men’s sub-junior core group for a national coaching camp to nurture future talent. Sardar, a former Indian captain, has been appointed as a mentor and coach. The participants, who will train at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, were selected based on their prior results in the HI Sub-Junior National Championships. Sardar Singh To Train Men Sub-Junior Hockey Group
In Sardar’s opinion, the camp was a brilliant concept to establish a supply line for Indian hockey. In a Hockey India statement, Sardar Sing said, “The establishment of the men’s sub-junior core group marks a crucial turning point in Hockey India’s continuous effort to bring Indian hockey to the attention of the world. This program demonstrates HI’s commitment to creating a vibrant pipeline of up-and-coming talent, ensuring a bright future for men’s hockey in the international arena.”
According to the coach, in addition to promoting player talent growth, the camp will emphasize physical conditioning and the development of “mental resilience”. These young athletes will have an engaging experience at the camp. Rigid training regimens will put a strong emphasis on developing tactical nous, physical fitness, and mental toughness. I sincerely think that by giving these young athletes access to the best coaching, state-of-the-art facilities, and the chance to compete at the greatest level, we are demonstrating our unshakeable faith in their ability to succeed and uphold the honor of our country.”
