Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper batter, is in Dubai for the December 19 IPL 2024 player auction. In 2023, he missed the entire season for the first time in his IPL career. In a video posted to the IPL Twitter account, he declared, “Given the kind of accident I had, [I’m] lucky to be alive. It was really difficult, especially the first part, which was more physically taxing at first because there was a lot of pain to be felt. However, based solely on the journey thus far, I believe that, in terms of recovery, things have been going pretty well. I felt like I needed to do something that gave me confidence because I couldn’t face people and everything.”
He stated in a video that Capitals uploaded to Instagram, “I believe that I’ve improved significantly from my previous performance a few months ago. I’m still working toward full recovery, but I should be able to do that in a few months. It’s been incredible because we always feel alone when we play because there’s so much pressure and stuff going on. Sure, it’s a difficult moment, but I’ve learned that people value and care about us despite our injury, and they also love and respect us.”
