Rishab Pant gets candid about IPL 2024 auction:
In a video posted to the IPL Twitter account, he declared, “Given the kind of accident I had, [I’m] lucky to be alive. It was really difficult, especially the first part, which was more physically taxing at first because there was a lot of pain to be felt. However, based solely on the journey thus far, I believe that, in terms of recovery, things have been going pretty well. I felt like I needed to do something that gave me confidence because I couldn’t face people and everything.”
He stated in a video that Capitals uploaded to Instagram, “I believe that I’ve improved significantly from my previous performance a few months ago. I’m still working toward full recovery, but I should be able to do that in a few months. It’s been incredible because we always feel alone when we play because there’s so much pressure and stuff going on. Sure, it’s a difficult moment, but I’ve learned that people value and care about us despite our injury, and they also love and respect us.”

Hardik Pandya MI captaincy:
Meanwhile, In a historic move, the Mumbai Indians named Hardik Pandya captain of the team for the 2024 Indian Premier League. With this move, Rohit Sharma’s ten-year tenure as the Mumbai Indians captain is effectively over.
After a two-year absence, Hardik rejoined the Mumbai Indians and was given the captaincy. He would be carrying on the legacy of the joint-most successful captain in the Indian Premier League. After leaving in two disappointing years, Hardik Pandya is the favourite to take home the trophy this year.
Midway through the 2013 IPL season, Rohit replaced Ricky Ponting as captain of MI, and he guided the team to their first championship by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the championship game. With 6211 runs—3986 of which have come while captaining the team—across 157 innings at 129.37 SR with 25 fifty-scores, Rohit is the fourth-highest run scorer in the IPL.
With a total of 4680 runs, Rohit is the third-highest IPL captain after Kohli (4994 runs) and Dhoni (4660 runs). With the Mumbai Indians, where he started his IPL career in 2015, Hardik has amassed 1476 runs and claimed 42 wickets. Pandya joined MI as an uncapped player for INR 10 lakh, and he soon established himself as a vital member of the squad, participating in the teams that won titles in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.
