Asia Cup 2023: On Saturday, September 2, the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan was called off due to severe rain at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka. During the dramatic event, the stadium DJ played the ‘Ram Siya Ram’ song, which drove social media into a frenzy.
Despite weather delays at times, viewers were able to see the entire first inning as the Men in Blue scored a modest total of 266 runs. This was made possible by Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya’s disciplined outing following the early wicket collapse that reduced the side to 66/4. While Ishan scored 82 off 81 balls, Hardik scored 87 off 90 balls, and the two collaborated for a 138-run stand to help revitalise India’s innings.
During the match, though, one strange incident drew a lot of attention from fans on social media. The stadium DJ played ‘Ram Siya Ram,’ a song from the Indian film ‘Adipurush,’ during the 34th over of the innings.
