Mohammad Amir, a former fast bowler for Pakistan, was recently spotted getting upset with some fans for referring to him as a “fixer.” Notably, Amir, who is currently representing the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League PSL 2024, scored 1/30 of four overs in their match against the Lahore Qalandars on Sunday, March 10 in Karachi.
But following the game, the 31-year-old was observed getting into a furious altercation with some spectators who referred to him as a “fixer.” Amir is seen in a widely shared video passing by a stand-in Karachi Stadium while supporters yell his name. The cricket player, however, took offence at someone calling him a “fixer” and returned to confront the individual. Amir was even seen cursing at the fan later on in the video.
Amir can be heard saying, “Fixer ke bachhe! Ghar se yahi seekh kea ate ho (Is this what your parents have taught you?),”

Notably, in 2010 during the Lord’s Test in England, Amir was a part of the spot-fixing scandal. The left-arm seamer took orders from captain Salman Butt and purposefully bowled no-balls. He was consequently given a five-year ban, and Butt and Mohammad Asif, the other accused parties, received similar sentences.
Amir hasn’t had a particularly good season in the current PSL; in seven games, he has taken just six wickets at an economy of 8.69 and an average of 37.66. Amir ended the 91-run stand between him and Abdullah Shafique (59* off 39) in the final over of Quetta’s match by dismissing Lahore’s captain Shaheen Afridi for 55 (34) in the final over of play.
Lahore finished their innings at 166/4 in the 20 overs that were allotted to them, thanks to the left-arm seamer who conceded just six runs in the last over. In response, Jason Roy (18 off 14) and Saud Shakeel added 39 runs for the first wicket to give Quetta a strong start. With his incredible innings of 88* (65), Shakeel kept holding one end even after losing his opening partner, Roy and nearly put his team ahead to victory.
With four runs needed off the final ball, Mohammad Wasim Jr. hit Afridi for a six, setting up an exciting finish to the game that saw his team win by six wickets. They advanced to the tournament’s knockout stages as a result of their victory.
