PSL 2024: During Tuesday’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Karachi, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam and Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan’s daughter, Aina, shared a touching moment. Known for their close bond, Babar and Rizwan have been leading Pakistan’s batting in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) since 2021.
A video that was posted on X (formerly Twitter) shows Babar jokingly interacting with Aina while speaking in a childlike tone. After his team defeated Rizwan’s squad in the PSL match, Babar allegedly made fun of Aina, showing the lighter side of their rivalry, according to the user who uploaded the video.
In a thrilling PSL match, Babar’s Peshawar Zalmi defeated Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultans by four runs in a thrilling match that went down to the very last over. After winning the toss, Zalmi chose to bat first and amassed a formidable 204 points.

Babar and Saim Ayub started the innings with an explosive 84 runs in about 7 overs before the former left after Usama Mir’s delivery trapped him in front for 46, a decision that was later reviewed and deemed to be ‘not-out’.
Babar, who made a strong 64 off 40 deliveries, continued to lead the innings. Usama Mir and Chris Jordan both bowled exceptionally well, taking three and two wickets respectively, while giving up 32 and 33 runs in their allotted quotas.
The Sultans fought valiantly to reach 205, but they could only muster 200 in the 20 overs that were allowed to them. With unbeaten scores of 60 off 27 balls and 30 off 12 balls, respectively, Iftikhar Ahmed and Chris Jordan made significant contributions with the bat as well.
They formed a resilient 75-run partnership for the sixth wicket. They were unable to lead the Sultans to victory, though. Aamer Jamal, the recent sensation in pace bowling, took two vital wickets for Zalmi, while Mehran Mumtaz and Naveen-ul-Haq each claimed one wicket. Jamal was the match’s most economical bowler, going at a meagre rate of 5.
Zalmi moved up to third position in the PSL standings after this victory, having won four of their previous eight games. In the meantime, Multan Sultans showed off their supremacy in the competition thus far by holding onto the top spot despite the defeat.
